LAND

Transforming the remnants of a diverted river stream into a pedestrian walkway

NTUA Land is part of a research program for the renovation of the area surrounding the National Technical University of Athens campus. In the past, there was a river flowing through the campus, but it was deemed an inconvenience and rerouted. The urban landscaping proposed is a tribute to the lost river. Concrete banks are created, anticipating a water flow that will never arrive. However, waves of young people may come and occupy it. Its open structure would enable it to function as an urban lounge for the campus.
